A dramatic rescue at Hominy Falls, Nicholas County, West Virginia, May 7,1968, 25 miners were trapped in the mine owned by the Gauley Coal and Coke Company after a miner accidentally bored into a wall of water. Recovery effort began on May 7 and 15 miners were rescued after 5 days. After 10 days 6 of the 10 remainder miners were alive and that was a miracle within itself.......
