What a nice way to go home when you can't really get there! I was born in Richwood and raised there for most of my life. I DO miss home but I was there during the 1993 blizzard and that's what keeps me in FL! I especially would like to get back in touch with my old friends I went to school with there. I graduated from RHS in 1985. Anyone who remembers me can get in touch with me at this e-mail address. I'd love to hear from anyone.

My father moved our family from Richwood in 1948 to Wilmingtom Delaware. I was heart broken to leave the beautiful mountains and the wonderful people of Richwood a place I will always call my home. I will always remember the time of my youth and the people in Richwood.

I have come across an unused box of clothes pins from the Stelle Wallace Corp, made under the ACME name. I was just wondering if you had any information on the factory in Richwood. Dates of operation ect. I'm just wondering how old my box of clothes pins are??? I will attach a picture. I do have it up on E-bay under vintage clothes pins, or Acme clothes pins. Item number # 2561471114 on E-bay.

My parents are not deceased and I am the only sibling who remembers. In the 1960s, Miss World visiting Richwood for their Homecoming. We have photos. I will make a search to pass them on to you.

I was told from a very reliable source, that the main studio for WVAR is being moved to Webster Springs. The tower and transmitter will remain on Horse Ridge. The programming will be sent from the new studio location in Webster Springs to the tower/transmiiter site in Richwood via microwave transmission

So many people have been asking about the WVAR radio station. I live right beside the station and the information given to me by one of the stations 1/3 owner is that, they filed with the FCC for silent time off the air, to give them time to rebuild their tower that was taken down by the ice storm we had in Feb. That person also told me that, they only have until Feb, of 2004 to get the tower up and running or they lose their licensing from the FCC.

I am new to your sight and so tickeled to have found you and wanting any info on my grandfather...He was born in 1903 in Richwood. His mom was Lulu Shaver. I think his dad's name was Preston. I believe his mom and sister's Minnie and Nellie resided on Hinkel Mt. He married Lucy Sparks in May of 1925. They left Richwood for work in Ohio in 1942 taking their three kids...This is a pic of him in 1936 taken in Richwood...
