 | Guestbook Richwooders Third Guestbook ( 40 - 59 ) |
Finally a place that lets me feel like I have come back to my hometown, Hello Hometown, It is so good to see Richwood back up and running. I think it is wonderful. A fabulous site Richwooders! Roger Lee Farmer <farmer beartown.net> Cincinnati, OH I just discovered the Richwooders Guestbook and it is great. I spent my early childhood in Milltown on Cherry Street while attending Milltown Elementary School thru the 6th grade. My father worked for the ol Milltown Lumber Co. Unfortunately we moved as I entered the 7th grade. I have returned several times to Richwood and I realize my dream of returning upon retirement in a short few years. It is a place found only in WV... peaceful and wonderful and warm neighbors. Keep up the good work with the Richwooders guestbook. Bill Vass <vassb mail.nih.gov> Charles Town, WV. After having problems with the other Richwood website, I googled and found this one. Fantastic!! I visit Richwood quite often and love it there. I still have family and friends on Hinkle Mountain. Thanks for a great site for us Richwooders... Dale Russell <mustangerp5l aol.com> Ravenna, Ohio Hi Richwooders everywhere, hope you are having a not so hot summer. We here in Northern Va are having very hot weather, can't wait until Fall. The reason I'm signing in today is, on the homepage, there is a graph of the population, I am wondering what the population was in the late 50's that is when I lived there. It gives the 2000 stats, just curious about the other years. Have a "cool" rest of the summer and have a great reunion "Class of 63" my brother "Buster" is a member of that class, hope he can make it. Betty (Cornell) Barker <betty.jim starpower.net> Leesburg, VA. Enjoyed reading all comments. When I was a young girl, my father fished in the Richwood area. On the main street there was a little restaurant that he and his fishin buddies would stop and eat breakfast. He took me and my mother there too, of course that was when he wasn't fishing. I am getting the camper packed to go to Summit Lake with my husband. I have never been there, but he tells me it's beautiful. Will see ya'll on the streets of Richwood soon. Patti Rose <pattirose dragonbbs.com> Racine, OH. I was born in Richwood 1943 and went to Tannery 49&50 I would like to see a first grade picture of that year, thanks to Sonya Chapman for sending me this web site, saeblake juno.com Steve Blake <saeblake juno.com> Lexington, KY. If its the outdoors you like then this is the place for you. I grew up in Richwood and graduated from RHS in '97. I really like this sight though, its the first time I've seen it. Keep up the good work. "Let's Go Jacks" Matthew Greene <pepboy78 hotmail.com> Winchester, VA. Still got kin and friend there. <montana60 citynet.net> Sutton, WVA Great site! Lots of great memories from Richwood! Lyle USA I was born in Richwood and raised on Dyer Ave. Remember all the summer nights playing hide and seek and setting on Myrtle Persinger's sidewalk and telling ghost stories. Sure was a great town to grow up in! A lot of great memories. Still my favorite place to come home to. Great website, keep up the good work. Bob Hanna <roberthanna webtv.net> Wadsworth, Ohio Happy Forth to all in Richwood! B Lewis USA Richwood The closest thing to heaven love you grandma and grandpa Marlowe! Amy Marlowe <athena44883 yahoo.com> Tiffin, Oh. I just finished reading the 5th guestbook and hated to see that there weren`t more people signed in on it. It is really amazing to see how people feel about a time, a place and a chapter in their lives. We all must come home someday, it is comforting to know we have such a magnificent place as Richwood to call that place. They say we are just a product of our enviroment, I would say that there are some pretty good products out there. Remember where your roots come from and no matter where you plant yourself a fine strong tree will grow. Richwood may you last past the test of time and continue to produce strong, fine seedlings for many more generations. I will see you when the trees change. Steve Marlowe <smarlowe bright.net> Tiffin, Oh. Hi! My grandparents are from Richwood and we love to visit them every year. It is so beautiful there and the people are friendly. GO MOUNTINEERS!!! LOVE YA JUNIOR AND BETTY MARLOWE!! michelle marlowe <jblair thewavz.com> Tiffin, Oh. I used to live in Richwood back in the 50's. My dad got a job at Kaiser Alum. (It was called then) and we moved. I went to school at Walnut Street. My picture is in the Grade 3, 1955-1956 class. Found it on this site. I can remember 14 out of the 26 kids. I still come back there some to visit my Aunts. One just passed away and the other Aunt is living with her son (Sam Spencer) now in N.C. My wife and her family is from Canvas. Her dad came to work at the plant around the same time as my dad and several others from that area in the 50's. This site is really great!! William D. Johnson Cottageville, WV.. Alumni Committee needs help! Richwood Alumni Committee needs help desperately. Please if you can volunteer for clerical work send me an email or email Patty McKenzie ASAP... Apparently there is a good change Alumni Hall is going to close its doors and I know that none of us want that to happen. Thanks Betsy Betsy <betsymaisel13 aol.com>
