I was Born in Richwood 1941 in a home built by Cherry Boom and Lumber Company. I lived many locations in the City, but and remember the old House at the South end of the wooden swinging bridge near the Cherry Boom and Lumber Company. I'm a former Richwooder. Was raised up Little Laurel. I was in the Richwood National Guards 1950 to 1952. Have great memories of Little Laurel. Swimming At the Blue hole, walking 2 and one half miles with all the kids to ride the school bus to Richwood High. Hope to get home for the next Little Laurel home coming. I can not believe it has been 52 years since I left Richwood. Richwood will always be home to me. I loved the going to the Grille and hanging out at the newstand. I made a lot of good friends there and have only happy memories of the town and people. I still love to go for homecoming when I can. Always went back to Richwood for everything we could, kept up with old friend.bought a summer home on little laurel, 3 miles from Richwood. I enjoy hearing from students and friends in Richwood. The Charlottle Observer ran a whole page on Richwood and the Ramp Festival. The town is getting on the map and people know it's in West Virgina.
