(#300) Hi Everyone and anyone who can related: I would have graduated in 1957, but left Richwood 1955. Was a Richwood cheerleader in 1955 along with my sister Charlotte. We moved to California summer of 1955. But I have lots of interesting memories of the two years I did attend RHS. Especially the basketball games, against Gauley Bridge, Webster Springs and Summersville. Shake Rattle and Roll Lumberjacks of the Fifties! (#297) Just a quick question. There used to be a listing of homes/real estate for sale on the page. I can't seem to find the link to that information. Could someone post that info if is still available. Thanks! It's great fun to read and remember the good times in Richwood.

(#296) To Guestbook Entry #293. Yes, I remember Larry Windon very well. I graduated a year later in 1957. I believe we went to Fenwick Elementary School together. So, to you Larry, a fond "HELLO" and hope this finds you well. Betty Cornell Barker Leesburg, VA - Tuesday, August 10, 2004 at 12:43:00 (EDT)
(#295) We just randomly bumped into your site searching for West Virginia sites. We've been out of Richwood since June, 1940 and when I came upon your website and saw the pictures of Richwood, it made me realize all over again, just how beautiful West Virginia is. I love the picture of the Monongahela National Forest fall colors, Marlinton Road at the Monongahela National Forest Sign in winter and the Hills Creek Falls. Thank you so much for sharing these pictures with the world. Thanks

My husband was just commenting that he would like to see a pictures of Richwood or Marlinton Road and then about 15 minutes later I happened to your site. Thanks for the memories and pictures of Richwood and West Virginia. Devon Springer Minneapolis, Minnesota - Thursday, August 05, 2004 at 08:51:26 (EDT)
(#288) Any of you people remember (or know) any RHS students in the graduating class of 1956? I'm one of them but have not seen any other graduates on here. Those were the "rocking, hip hopping" days in which we monopolized the Grill with "rock and roll", turned the HS gym into a "dancer's paradise" and even tried to do some studying. My compliments to the webmaster for bringing back all the memories. He/she must be a computer genius and has a real fondness for his/her "growing up" years in Richwood. One of these days we may find out who he/she is. Keith Ignatius Keith Ignatius Mavlern, PA - Wednesday, August 04, 2004 at 17:18:20 (EDT)
(#287) Have been waiting for a Richwood Guestbook like this for a long time! Glad to see someone made it happen. We really enjoy it. Ray and Sarah Cutlip Hawaii - Wednesday, August 04, 2004 at 03:11:25 (EDT)
(#286) My friend Marlene sent this site to me and for the past hour have enjoyed this trip down memory lane. Although I have never lived in Richwood I had family there for many many years in this area. My family names were Rigsby, Neff, Mays, Grimes to name a few. I have been told the Rigsby's were part of the Cranberry Ridge Rigsby's and some are buried in the Horseshoe Ridge Cemetery area. If anyone is related to these surname please drop me a note at JudiSpencr@aol.com I so enjoy my trips to Nicholas and Webster Co. (#285) I was born and raised in Richwood and am related to the Hinkle's and Spencer's. I fondly remember all the times as a child when my grandfather Elza Webb and Grandmother Chloe Williams used to take me to "camp" on the Greenbriar River in Seebert,West Virginia. On our "camping" trips we would always stop on Kennison mountain and collect water that would drain out of the mountain and can remember to this day how good and cold that water tasted. I now live in L.A. and have not been back home in several years but not a day goes by that I do not think of the beauty of West Virginia, the great times I had growing up as a child and how fortunate I am to have roots in Richwood, West Virginia. (#284) Hello Richwood. You are forever in my heart. My grandmother Loa Edith Loudermilk Rigsby who was born 1881 the daughter of James Hanson Loudermilk grew up on Horse Ridge Mountain. My grandfather was Summers Beverly Rigsby born 1880 in Dunlap Iowa but moved to there as a child. My grandma used to spend hours telling me stories of being a child on Horse Ridge, that was over thirty years ago. This past month I decided I had to go walk on Horse Ridge for myself. It was wonderful!!! Entering Richwood we spotted a police car and stopped to ask directions to Horse Ridge, or see is anyone even knew of it. The two officers were GREAT, just the kind of people you want representing your community. They went to the trouble of actually showing us where we had to go. I found Horse Ridge and some wonderful people there. Mrs. Grove who used to be a Hinkle and her husband, and daughter were sooo nice. I plan to send my Hinkle - Spencer family tree info to her as I am also related to the Spencers. I would be very interested in any info any one may have on my grandparents. Looking forward to coming back. Lisa Martin Markleysburg, PA - Monday, August 02, 2004 at 18:51:06 (EDT)
