(#320)     I Lived in Nicholas County during the years of 1945 to 1960. My father work at the coke ovens in Saxman. I went to the Little Laurel two room school with Mrs.Woodyard, Mrs. Breeden as the teacher. We had some really great times. The population was less than 100 people, and everyone went to Richwood High school. It was such an interesting place. Once we had snow five feet deep! That was a big deal for the little ones. I remember a lot about Little Laurel, especially about the little community church across the road from the school, and the Easter Sunrise services there. One of the most memorable places to me as a child was the Northern Restaurant with the old jukebox and the best french fries, and hamburgers in Richwood. I have many wonderful memories of childhood there, and would love to see more entries in the guestbook of Little Laurel people who were there then too...God Bless

(#317)    Wow! I never thought I would actually get a chance to "surf" through the memories of our proud city! It took me a long time to realize just what I had missed. Well, as they say, hindsight being 20/20 and all, I know now. We were pretty much all about getting out of Richwood and West Virginia and to see the world and especially to share it with ours peers. God Bless

(#314)     Memories of Richwood High School was a special and fun time. The dances, the senior class Hootenanny, The sporting events, friends, crazy moments, guys in rented tuxedos, prom dates looking beautiful. I remember the teachers, Miss Christine White, Mr Fred Ferguson, Mr. Clyde Armstrong, Mrs. Melinda Hick.etc. The highlights were special friends, warm feelings and all the things that kept us all crazy those years.   To Tom White, Post #301     Miss Christine White knew each student individually and demonstrate her love for students by building personal friendships which make an entire English class more sensitive to each other. She was a very smart women and I was in her class. You gotta love a teacher with a little class and she was the Super Duper Nice Teacher of R.H.S.

(#308)    Hello, I graduated RHS in 1979. I'm looking for a book "History of Nicholas County" by William Griffee Brown. I believe it was published in the 1950's. I'm not sure if it was ever reprinted. Does anyone know where I can obtain a copy?

(#302)    I was born in Richwood, as my seven sisters also was born there. I moved away when I was 11 years old to Michigan. I missed the old town a lot. I have traveled the world, and my heart still relates back to my roots. I am a published writer now, and plan on a trip back there in September 2004 for a family reunion, and found this site looking for a hotel. Hope to see a few Richwooders when I get there.
