The spring of 1941 this Richwood West Virginia Paper Mill was producing paper but the shortage of raw materials and outdated machinery forced it to close About 1942.
When they closed the Paper Mill, several of the Richwooders mill workers migrated to Plymouth North Caroline and lived in a small village named little Richwood Village which is still there today.

This photo shows you the site of the former mill taken on July 2009, the mill was between the motel and the Cherry River Elementary School, and the Cherry River is right across from the motel.
