All shapes, sizes and colors of mushrooms are found throughout the Summit Lake area and as mushroom hunters well know, these fruiting bodies are ephemeral and only appear for a few weeks after a wet period.

I know so many West Virginia people who lived in the mountains and have .... hunt and gather wild morels mushrooms, wondered if people found many morels in these wooded areas around Summit Lake... I have never seen any or am I the worst morels mushroom hunter in West Virginia. I would think that mid April or late April would be the start of the wild morels mushrooms season.
